Since September 2024, OCA – Ouest Convoyeur Automatisme – has been working alongside the Drakkar de Vendée association, reinforcing its involvement in the region’s dynamism and appeal. By becoming a patron of this unique project, our company is supporting the promotion of the Vendée’s maritime and historical heritage, while affirming our local roots and our commitment to large-scale cultural initiatives.

The Drakkar project aims to bring back to life an emblematic ship of the Viking era, by building a full-scale drakkar faithful to original techniques and materials. Once built, the drakkar will travel the coasts of France and Europe, becoming a mobile ambassador for the heritage of the Loire Valley. This project embodies values of rigor, transmission of ancient knowledge and collaboration that resonate with OCA’s values, as well as our commitment to innovation, precision and passion for local know-how.

By supporting this project, we are actively participating in the preservation and enhancement of the region’s history, while enabling a broad public to rediscover the traditions and crafts that have shaped the identity of the Pays de la Loire region. For OCA, this commitment is an opportunity to contribute to a meaningful project, and to unite our industrial know-how with the cultural aspirations of our region.

On Friday October 25, a symbolic and memorable milestone took place with the launching of the drakkar in Les Sables-d’Olonne. Three of OCA’s associates had the honor of taking part in this event, marking a concrete and passionate commitment to this major project. Alongside the builders and craftsmen, they attended this high point, symbolizing the start of a new adventure on the waters of the Vendée. 

Our sponsorship is not limited to financial support. We are also committed to sharing this unique experience with all our employees. Through this partnership, our aim is to strengthen the conviviality within our team and unite our employees around a shared adventure. In the coming months, OCA plans to organize a number of sea outings, offering everyone the chance to climb aboard the Drakkar and enjoy an immersive experience. This will be an opportunity to share unforgettable moments and create strong memories, while perpetuating team spirit and the pleasure of adventure.
