For more than 44 years, OCA has been developing innovative handling solutions, tailored to the challenges faced by industry. In the laundry sector, which accounts for almost a third of our business, we have acquired recognized expertise. This specialization enables us to respond precisely to the needs of industrial laundries, as was the case for a major player in the sector who recently called on our know-how.

An industrial launderer was experiencing major malfunctions on its overhead handling system. The slings frequently stopped between the storage area and the elevator exit, requiring repeated interventions to re-establish the flow. These interruptions slowed down production and increased operational constraints.

To remedy this problem, OCA carried out an in-depth technical audit, enabling us to propose a complete and sustainable solution.

To optimize the processing of soiled linen, we implemented several technical improvements to optimize the operation of the original handling system and guarantee its greater autonomy. Here are the main actions taken :

1. Precise adjustment of the storage table: we adjusted the parameters of the storage table to avoid the need for an operator to push the slings. 

2. addition of pushers on the storage stops: automated pushers were installed on the storage stops to ensure smooth, continuous movement of the slings. 

3. Installation of a satellite conveyor: we added a satellite conveyor at the exit of the lanes to accompany the slings to the elevator, guaranteeing a smooth, uninterrupted transfer.

4. Optimization of conveyor slopes: all slopes were carefully adjusted to improve sling flow and avoid stoppages.

5. Replacement of the pneumatic levelling system: a new pneumatic system was installed to ensure reliable, high-performance levelling. 

6. Modernization of the forklift: we replaced the forklift carriage and carried out a complete overhaul of the system to ensure optimum operation.

Thanks to the improvements OCA was able to make to the elevator and its ancillary fittings, the system now operates smoothly and continuously. The overall reliability of the soiled linen handling system has been considerably enhanced, enabling the customer to resume normal operations without interruptions, while minimizing costs and effort for the operators.
